Preserving Your Legacy -- Steve Cecchetti Steve Cecchetti, Director of Development for Lutheran Services Florida and a Certified Legacy Advisor has developed this workshop over the past dozen years. Steve believes that everyone's life is a story worth telling. While some of these stories are preserved and passed on for future generations to enjoy and learn from others are lost forever the moment a person passes from this life to the next. This interactive workshop consists of exercises designed to help you recall the stories of your life and then preserve those stories in a way that will be interesting and meaningful for people 50 or 100 years from now to pick up and read.

Retirement Options: Age 65 - 100, are you ready? -- Tom Kelly, Executive Director, Village On The Isle, Venice, FL
Tom Kelly will address the various aspects of planning that is needed from age 65 to age 100 . . . and beyond!   This will include an overview of the available help from government programs and its changing nature, environmental issues, personal health choices along with what an informed consumer needs to be looking for should they choose one of the many options available for congregate living.

Today's Markets and Your Money: Follow a hunch or get informed? -- Michael Noel, Financial Representative, Thrivent
Nearly three in four Americans worry about the economy. Yet many don't take the steps to become more informed. You can. When you have a better understanding of the factors that affect financial markets and trends, you can make more informed investment decisions. Join us for an Economic and Investment Outlook workshop and in just one hour you'll receive important insights on investment options that may suit your needs and the "new normal" of muted economic growth.

Saving Your Skin -- Dr. J. Morgan O'Donoghue, Medical Director of O'Donoghue Dermatology
The Florida sunshine you love comes with dangers to the skin you feel so close to. How can you enjoy outdoor activities and keep your skin healthy? Dr. O'Donoghue will describe some of the problems you may encounter. He will also discuss treatments and preventive measures of special interest to Florida residents and visitors.

Stretch and Balance Exercise -- Beverly Granger, Parish Nurse, Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Venice.
Physical activity is essential to growing older. It prevents heart disease, diabetes, falls, and many more diseases. 70% of U.S. adults are sedentary or relatively inactive. Come join us for "Stretch and Balance" which is a combination of balancing exercises, stretching muscles and joints, and some light cardio movement, while adding fun and laughter. It is adaptable to all ages and physical abilities.

Health Ministry IS God's Work-Our Hands -- Tracey Rzepka, Parish Nurse at St. Armands Key Lutheran Church.
Our congregations in Florida are aging! Surprise! Individuals over 75 may even comprise the majority, with complex medical, social and spiritual issues. They are often alone with family far away. So what can we do to help them meet their social needs, navigate complex medical systems, and remain connected spiritually to the church? Should the pastors do it all? Tracey will help you to understand why a health ministry is important, show you how to develop a health ministry team, and how to utilize your members to meet the needs of your congregation.

Through the Valley: A Survivor's Guide -- Marsha Weaver, author of "Through the Valley, a business and personal guide for grieving families"
Have you ever wished you could help a friend through those difficult days following the loss of a loved one? Or, do you know where to begin to settle an estate for a family member? No matter how well we prepare, being a survivor carries responsibility and stress. Marsha will share a step by step path for being a more peaceful, organized survivor; and, discuss tools to give your family and friends comfort and hope. It's not a matter of whether we will each travel through this valley, but when and how.
